Ps. Totally Unbiased issues

Uganda has the world’s youngest population with over 78% of its population below the age of 30. The biggest population that is rooting against the current government in support of opposition parties like People Power are the youth under 35 – 40 years of age; not because they have been entirely affected by his reign but mostly due to the need to feed our curious egos, we would like to know what it is like to have a different person in power. The rest of the country’s population, from 45 – 50 onward totally have no problem with his rule for HE Museveni has been in power for over 35 years, and they testify of how life got better when he came in power.

Let me tell you a short story.

A young village couple that had been engaged for almost 5 years, relocated to a city suburb after the husband had been given a promotion to teach at a recently opened school branch. Being the hard worker that he is, he was among the lucky ones to relocate to Kampala. Life was exciting but the excitement was way more unimaginable for the wife. She made new friends in the neighborhood who ushered her into the city’s lavish life, which influenced her into craving for the same life too as her friends. Sauna and steam baths, manicure and pedicure, Brazilian hair were her agenda despite the husbands meager income. The pressure she had obtained from her newly made friends sent her into judging and disrespecting the husband, ungratefulness kicked in and before she knew it, she had multiple sexual affairs with richer men that had totally ruined her marriage.

She was broken, and full of regrets but could not turn back time.

In a lay man’s language, politics can be defined, as set of activities associated with the governance of a country or an area. Such include laws, health, education, economic status etc. Uganda has a representative democracy where we have representatives appointed by the president or elected by the people to be in charge of administering proper service delivery in all these fields to an ordinary citizen. Yes! Things go wrong, like the lack of proper medical systems in our hospitals, the recent strikes at “Africa’s Harvard”; Makerere University, the injustices going on in the Uganda police among other unlawful things going on in the country. Relating this to our own personal lives, how much of our duties and responsibilities have gone wrong on our own watch yet they affected so many people?
Some families have 5 – 7 children but would spend a week without hearing from half their children, probably because they are in boarding school or the family head is quite too busy or too careless to check whether the children had a proper meal?

President Museveni runs a whole goddamn country, and he’s human who makes errors and honestly, something’s have seriously gone wrong.
However he has done good deeds too, the ones we can’t acknowledge now. A saying goes you don’t realize someone’s worth until you’ve lost them.

I’m a big fan of Mr Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, both his musical and political careers. His art of thinking is exactly what every Ugandan needs to install in their mindsets rather than waiting for the Ugandan government to fix our issues. So, how about Mr Kyagulanyi and President Museveni sit on a round table and talk like grown-ups do, because generally the entire struggle is to better the Ugandan lives, instead of splitting into political parties. A peace talk or breakfast meeting to discuss ideas that better this country seems like an easier option to me.

Every Ugandan needs to be aware and fight for their rights, to work hard enough and empower one another to fight poverty and unemployment, reach out, come together and work in unity. Sensitization on the ever changing economy, the financial decisions we make, economic activities we take part in and our art of thinking and viewing life; because if we remain with our naive mentalities, not even the best president that has ever lived can fix Uganda’s problem.

OH and by the way, vote too.

Case closed.

I like your mindset but you know if Bobiwines funs read this they going to throw a whole lots of dirt on this.... But your right people should change their mindset. That's all we need...
One people one uganda
Okay here is the thing, shifting a country to become paradise doesn't necessarily need the leadership of a sole individual. Look at Kenya, how many presidents has it had in the past 30years, how developed is it? It may not necessarily be Bibi Wine and God forbid its not Besigye maybe someone else... Different presidents have different mindset M7 has developed the army just like Bush did for America, some other president can develop the economy and another foreign affairs policy but not all policies entirely rotating on one individual. In business its called specialisation that's what America has been doing, we too can do it

But you can't blame the youth for wanting change, we haven't seen our constitution in use, we need to see a peaceful transition of government.

Live everyday like it’s your birthday.

PS. This is based on a personal experience As days to my twenty fine birthday drew nearer, I was on a roller coaster of emotions., filled with anxiety, excitement and fear the whole time. This one was a special one, I was eagerly anticipating it because I guess it’s the 1 st birthday that I’m celebrating when I’m actually in charge. By in charge I mean, I could actually afford treating myself out, a fancy cake or whatsoever I wanted to do with my life that day. The anticipation grew intense each day until D day. My birthday was okay, I had wanted it to be a lot more than merely okay, I had wanted a mind-blowing fulfilling experience (not so lavish or fancy) from those that love and care about me. I had high expectations, I wanted lots of attention, it’s like some tiny little bit of me wanted to be put on a pedestal and worshipped because it was “my” birthday. What a joke! So that long awaited morning, it rained unexpectedly, power went off too. Haha! I had a huge bea...

The price of being a man.

In my last article that I published here, a male friend commented privately that the piece left him feeling left out for it was more about empowering women hence living them out. So I was left wondering whether men do need empowerment. Later that afternoon, I met a friend  whom I asked randomly “John, do you think you as a man, you would need empowerment?” he laughed and said “I am a hard guy, men do not need such, it’s for you ladies.”, while flexing his bicep muscle to show me how strong he is. That right there is all the reasons why men need empowerment, for empowerment is not about physical strength or anything. Empowerment is meant to make someone stronger and more confident, especially in controlling their life and claiming their rights and things they believe in. The bible says God created man first, and all the other different scholars in the world of Science put man first as the significant being, the superiority of being a male being does bring a great platform that g...
